Fastmatics™
for Automation of Process Control
Perfect for Production, R&D, and Process Development
Lower your cost and improve productivity
Fastmatics was developed specifically for process control applications that require quick development and flexibility. It is a complete environment that supports process control application development. The Fastmatics environment provides a centralized control point that uniformly interfaces to your system devices.
Overview:
- The Human Machine Interface (HMI) development tool is comprised of easy to use drag and drop objects for placing HMI components.
- Data logging is comprised of features including strip charting, definition of multiple logged data sets each at their own rate, capture of images, and automatic upload to a web server.
- Supported devices can be added via drop down menu, the user can extend the program to add their own devices through a DLL interface.
- The environment is easily extensible in many ways by the end user, using the DLL, which can be run on any PC on the LAN. All communication between the DLL and Fastmatics PC is through TCP/IP - wrapped into and managed by the DLL.
- Fastmatics has a scripting language that is optimized for the environment. Code is compiled but when it runs the signals used by the process are automatically quality checked, see scripting for more details.
- Devices for most common Vacuum system components are included in the software for click to configure functionality.
- An IO Database is used with both generic device dependent name and user definable independent engineering naming of signals. All device drivers are written so that setting of signal values controls the devices functionality so that HMI and script writers have complete control of devices at all times. Special functions such as IO signal linearization, max ramp rate, engineering units, min and max value, and much more are easily set on the IO Map definition pages of the program.
- PID control loops are supported as well as special function control loops for low power stepper motor operation. Bang-Bang control loops for heater blankets are easily supported. Low cost MFC control, low cost pressure and flow control using MKS MFCs or MKS controllers, Fastmatics provides system level control.
- Omron and Procerius PLCs are supported with click to configure support. DeviceNet is support through Omron or Ethernet to DeviceNet modules.
- A user reconfigurable recipe designer is included
- The software works with both synchronous and asynchronous device readings yet the user does not have to make any special provisions in the setup to use the system.
- In a multi-module system a number of Fastmatics programs can easily and automatically share data in a cluster arrangement so that supervisory control can be easily achieved in multi-node Fastmatics setups. See applications, where the use of this software with two different methods is described. In the first a single PC runs the entire 6 module system, in another configuration, multiple Fastmaticss runs the entire cluster tool.
- All of the above are provided within one environment and therefore there is an easy path to coordination of activities in the system.
